How do you solve a problem like no more Sir Alex Ferguson?

Manchester United has been trying for three years and now Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri believes it has found the answer.

Ranieri, who won the English Premier League with Leicester last season as United floundered under Louis Van Gaal, says the club's new manager Jose Mourinho can make a similar impact to the iconic Scot.

"Mourinho can be the new Ferguson. He will not stay in Manchester for 26 years, but he will leave his mark," Mourinho told The Mirror.

"His rematch against me on August 7? That's the beauty of football. Our sport is a magnificent container of stories."

Mourinho has rarely been so kind about Ranieri in the past, once calling him a "loser" and suggesting his career had been a failure due to a lack of silverware.

Ranieri, who defeated Mourinho in the Portuguese's last game in charge as Chelsea manager in December at the King Power Stadium, takes his Leicester side to Wembley to play United in the FA Community Shield on August 7.
