Seinfeld stars Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will reunite on Instagram Live to help raise money for doctors and nurses.
The pair will appear on the social media platform Saturday at 6 p.m. ET. They will be raising money for Direct Relief during the livestream. The link in her Instagram bio had a link to a GoFundMe for Direct Relief.
The actress has raised nearly $36,000 in the past 24 days.
Direct Relief is working with nonprofits, public health authorities and businesses to provide personal protective equipment and essential medical items to health workers during the coronavirus pandemic, according to the GoFundMe's description. "In the U.S., Direct Relief is delivering protective masks – along with exam gloves, isolation gowns, and other protective gear to healthcare organizations across the country," the campaign's description said.
Louis-Dreyfus shared a photo of their Seinfeld characters Elaine Benes and George Costanza talking through a window, joking about how ahead of the curve the two were.
"Who knew we knew anything about social distancing back in the 90's? Join me and @jalexander1959 as we talk about nothing on Insta Live," Louis-Dreyfus wrote.
During an interview with Ellen Degeneres, Louis-Dreyfus said that she'd be discussing the iconic TV show with Alexander. Degeneres quipped that she'd never seen or heard of the show, and Louis-Dreyfus played along.
"How long did that go?" Degeneres joked. "I'm gonna have to check that out."
Louis-Dreyfus joked that Seinfeld was a drama in the early 1950's with "a lot of violence."
The star said that Alexander joined Instagram just for the occasion on Ellen. "If I don't screw it up, I will be there," he said in a video posted to his Instagram.
Louis-Dreyfus has been doing live streams with past co-stars each Saturday at the same time. She has also hosted her Veep co-stars Reid Scott and Tony Hale on her Instagram live to discuss specific episodes of the HBO series, later posting the videos to her YouTube channel.
The actress has also shared a self-deprecating video of herself, telling people to stay home to flatten the coronavirus curve. Sloppily applying makeup, Louis-Dreyfus told fans that her hair and makeup team were staying home. "Normally, when I do a PSA like this, I have a hair and makeup team–a glam team, professional glam team–who come and help me with my look," she said. "But, today, they're staying at home. They're staying safe, and that's what I'd like to ask you to do."
