Julia Stiles Sends Viewers Into Frenzy With Surprise 'SNL' Appearance

Julia Stiles sent social media into a frenzy after making a surprise cameo on Saturday Night Live.

The actor was met with cheers from the audience when she made an appearance during the Weekend Update segment of the latest episode.

Host Colin Jost had introduced Chloe Fineman to present some "intimate gift ideas for that special someone."

Fineman then appeared on stage in front of the Weekend Update desk, dressed in a Christmas robe.

"I only have one sexy gift idea, and I kind of have to demonstrate it," Fineman told Jost and Michael Che.

"The sexiest gift you can give your partner is trying something new in the bedroom[...]the perfect holiday gift this year is the dance that Julia Stiles does at the end of the 2001 movie Save the Last Dance."

Fineman then took off her robe to reveal the outfit Stiles wore during her performance at the end of the movie. She then proceeds to explain the plot while performing the dance.

When Jost asks if Stiles' character in the movie gets into performing arts school Juilliard, Stiles steps out and yells "yes!"

Fineman and Stiles then finish the dance in chairs, ending it by fist-bumping each other to loud applause and cheers from the audience.

Viewers also took to social media to talk about Stiles' surprise cameo and the nostalgia it evoked.

"Chloe Fineman doing choreography of Save the Last Dance as a skit on Weekend Update only to have Julia Stiles join her was a great dose of nostalgia," one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Another wrote: "When the REAL Julia Stiles appeared during the Save the Last Dance skit on @nbcsnl #WeekendUpdate, it warmed my Gen X heart!"

Another wrote: "No notes. Also I LOVED the massive applause Julia Stiles got."

Others delighted in Stiles interacting with the episode's musical guest Olivia Rodrigo at the end of the episode.

"And julia stiles and olivia omg this is my roman empire like the girls that get it get it," one person wrote.

Another wrote: "Seeing Olivia Rodrigo and Julia Stiles together is literally all I ever needed."

Some also pointed out how well Stiles has aged in the more than two decades since Save the Last Dance came out.

"Julia Stiles hasn't aged in the past 20 years. She looks the exact same," one person wrote.

Another added: "Julia Stiles in that same outfit from Save the Last Dance and looking just as bomb as she did when she filmed it."
