July 4 Sales 2018: Deals, Discounts and Coupons for the Holiday

The Fourth of July is an occasion to celebrate America's independence, fire up the grill and watch fireworks, but also shop some of the year's best deals.

Many businesses are offering discounts leading up to July 4, on the holiday and into the weekend. Here are some of the biggest discounts:

Lowe's: The home improvement store has markdowns going through July 9. Deals on barbecue equipment include a $169 Char-Broil five-burner liquid propane gas grill, a Kingsford charcoal two-pack for $9.88 and free propane with the purchase of a full-size gas grill and a Blue Rhino tank. Overarching deals include up to 40 percent off some appliances, patio furniture and outdoor décor.

"Summer calls for backyard barbeques and celebrations," Lowe's spokesperson Jordan Ribelin told Newsweek in a statement. "During this heavy season of entertaining, we want to ensure our customers have everything they need when hosting loved ones by offering a wide-assortment of products to keep their homes looking great inside and out."

Home Depot: The home improvement chain's annual Red White and Blue sale means 40 percent off some appliances. The deal goes through July 11.

Best Buy: The electronics store is offering deals on a variety of products, including GoPro's Fusion Camera at a $100 discount for $600, Sony's 65-inch X850E 4K television at a $200 discount for $1,000 and Bang & Olufsen's Beoplay H9 wireless headphones on a $200 discount for $300. Some appliances are 40 percent off. Students can save hundreds on a MacBook or MacBook Pro.

Macy's: The department store is offering 20 percent off some of its items and 25 percent off for customers who donate to veterans and military families. Shoppers should use the promo code FOURTH at the time of purchase.

Target: The store has home and patio furniture at a 30 percent discount in honor of July 4.

Ebay: The e-commerce site has certain items marked down 20 percent when customers enter the promo code PARTYINUSA at checkout.

REI: The sporting goods retailer is offering a 40 percent discount through July 5.

Saks OFF 5th: The discount retailer with designer clothing and handbags is offering up to 85 percent off on items in-store and online, and an additional 25 percent off clearance items, through July 4. Shoppers should enter the promo code HAPPY4TH.

Nectar Sleep: Customers who order by July 4 will get $125 off a mattress, as well as two free pillows.
