Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp's Advice to Premier League Title Chasers

Jurgen Klopp urged his squad to "stay cool" after Liverpool moved to the top of the English Premier League on Sunday with a 6-1 victory over Watford.

Klopp's side was dominant at Anfield, establishing a 3-0 lead by half-time. Only Daryl Janmaat's 75th-minute consolation goal prevented Liverpool from enjoying a perfect day, as it established a one-point lead over Chelsea at the top of the English Premier League.

But with less than a third of the season completed, Klopp preached level-headedness amid the growing excitement of a title challenge.

"I know in the past a lot of things happened here and the story two, three years ago when it was really close, but this is not the team two or three years ago," Klopp said.

"This is not the team 25 years ago. We're completely new. We stay cool. It's the best position I can imagine but nothing else has happened."

Under Brendan Rodgers, Klopp's predecessor, Liverpool came within a hair's breadth of the 2013-14 Premier League title, eventually finishing second to Manchester City by two points.
