This has been the year of the pop heavyweights, musically speaking, with Rihanna, Drake, Beyoncé and Kanye West already bestowing us with new records. But just when you thought all the big stars had already struck—enter Justin Timberlake, the crown prince of pop.
The singer is back with a feelgood summer anthem, "Can't Stop the Feeling," which was released in the early hours of Friday morning. The track—not dissimilar from frequent Timberlake collaborator Pharrell Williams's equally joyous "Happy"—marks the singer's first new music in almost three years following the release of 2013's The 20/20 Experience . That comeback was seven years in the making, while Timberlake dabbled in Hollywood, but thankfully there's no Friends with Benefits sequel preventing him from doing what he does best.

The song is the lead soundtrack single for new DreamWorks animation, Trolls, based on the colorful children's toys that first became a craze in the 1960s. Timberlake is among the voice cast alongside Anna Kendrick, Zooey Deschanel and James Corden.
The energetic video for the track features celebrity cameos aplenty from Corden, Kendrick, Gwen Stefani and Icona Pop. Taylor Swift's squad may have competition.
With "Can't Stop the Feeling," Timberlake, much like he did in 2006 with "SexyBack," delivers a strong contender for song of the summer.
With Alicia Keys also making her return this week with "In Common," a surprisingly earworm-y groove of her own, it's looking like a bright summer in music, whatever the weather.
