Kanye West Tells Trump MAGA Hat Makes Him Feel Like Superman

Kanye West gave a 10-minute speech and noted that wearing a hat with President Donald Trump's famous "Make America Great Again" slogan made him feel like a superhero. West attended the meeting with Trump to witness him signing the Music Modernization Act (MMA).

The MMA is a proposal supported by all sides of the music industry that will make mechanical licensing a digital process, accessible to both digital service providers, like Spotify, and music publishers. It aims to modernize copyright procedures in the streaming era.

West said he loves Hillary Clinton, who ran against Trump in the 2016 presidential election, but the MAGA hat gave him strength. "I love Hillary...the campaign 'I'm with her'....but there was something about when I put this hat on—it made me feel like Superman."

West then said Trump was on a special quest. "Let's stop worrying about the future—all we have is today.... Trump is on his hero's journey right now. He might not have thought he'd have a crazy mother-f***** like [me]," West said.

West also spoke about a lack of male energy in his life. "My dad and my mom separated so there was not a lot of male energy in my home, and also I'm married to a family where, you know, there's not a lot of male energy," West said in his speech, White House reporter Zeke Miller shared on Twitter. "It's beautiful though."

West is married to reality star and CEO of KKW Beauty Kim Kardashian, who is notably close with her four sisters and manager mother. The couple also have two daughters, North West and Chicago West, and a son, Saint West.

The rapper also claimed an individual's political party is sometimes assumed by race in a statement tweeted by White House Correspondent Saagar Enjeti: "People expect that if you're black you have to be Democrat," West said.
