Kari Lake Issues Ominous Warning as Her Attorneys Face Discipline

Arizona Senate hopeful Kari Lake said that no one is safe from the "tyrannical" government while discussing cases involving herself and other Republican figures.

Lake, a 2020 election denier who falsely claimed her 2022 gubernatorial loss to Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs was due to voting irregularities, made the claim on social media while sharing a post from Blaze reporter Steve Baker, who announced he is due to be charged by the Department of Justice over his reporting on the January 6 attack, without specifying further.

Newsweek has contacted the Department of Justice for comment via their website.

In rhetoric similar to that of former President Donald Trump, a Lake supporter who frequently claims the criminal investigations into him are politically motivated "witch hunts", the Arizona Republican suggested that the federal government and other agencies are purposely targeting GOP figures.

Lake also made reference to how her lawyers who worked on her baseless election fraud lawsuits, which were frequently dismissed by the courts due to lack of evidence, may be disciplined over the "frivolous" legal arguments.

"They are coming after my attorneys for having the courage to represent We the People in election challenges. The politicized Bar Association is trying to take away their law licenses," Lake posted on X, formerly Twitter.

"They are suing me for having the courage to speak out about election fraud and maladministration. They are indicting and persecuting President Trump. They are imprisoning journalists.

"You are next. No one is safe with this tyrannical government," she added.

Lake has been contacted for further comment via email.

The Attorney Discipline Probable Cause Committee recently gave the green light for the State Bar of Arizona to move forward with their disciplinary action against Andrew Parker, Bryan Blehm, and Kurt Olsen, who represented Lake in her lawsuits trying to throw out the 2022 gubernatorial election results.

Olsen and Blehm have already been sanctioned by the Arizona Supreme Court for making "false claims" that 35,000 ballots were illegally inserted into batches of legal ballots in Maricopa County just as the votes in the November 2022 election were due to be counted. Blehm faces an additional complaint over a post he made on X in August claiming the Central Intelligence Agency and Department of Justice forced the Arizona Supreme Court to "create misinformation boards" in the run up to the 2020 election to prevent lawsuits challenging the results correctly saying Trump lost to Joe Biden.

The Attorney Discipline Probable Cause Committee has now ruled there is probable cause to take formal action against Blehm and Olsen over their false claims. Parker also faces repercussions after he represented former secretary of state candidate Mark Finchem in a 2022 lawsuit which challenged the use of electronic machines counting ballots used in both last year's midterm races in Arizona, which was also thrown out.

Blehm and Parker face a reprimand, suspension for up to five years or disbarment, reported the Arizona Mirror, with Olsen's maximum punishment being a reprimand.

Newsweek contacted Blehm, Olsen and Parker for comment on the case on Wednesday but received no reply.

Lake's remarks were in response to Baker, a reporter for conservative news site The Blaze, saying he will be charged for his coverage of the Capitol riot.

"My attorney has just been notified by @FBI that I am going to be charged by @TheJusticeDept for my journalistic efforts on #Jan6," Baker posted. "I have to self-surrender on Tuesday. Charges are yet unknown."

Blaze Media's editor in chief, Matthew Peterson, hit out at the apparent charges as an "outrageous retaliation" on the part of the federal government against a journalist.

"[Baker] was an independent journalist on J6; he's now investigating the events of that day for The Blaze," Peterson posted. "We must all rally and end this totalitarian madness."
