Pro Soccer Player Takes Both Girlfriend and Ex to Event: 'GOAT'

Soccer star Karim Benzema may have been announced as the best player in the world in 2022 but he has been hailed as the G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Time) due to who he brought to the Ballon d'Or ceremony.

The 34-year-old French striker, who plays for Real Madrid in Spain, collected the Ballon d'Or trophy after he was honored as the best in the world at a glittering awards ceremony on Monday in Paris.

While being the best takes some skill and dedication, it is his off-the-field antics which have had tongues wagging with Benzema bringing both his ex, Cora Gauthier, and his new girlfriend, Jordan Ozuna, at the Théâtre du Châtelet.

Benzema has kept his private life out of the spotlight, for the most part, but since hooking up with former Hooters waitress Ozuna, he has shown off this relationship more on social media.

While it has not been confirmed that Benzema and Gauthier have separated, it would seem on their social media that they have indeed split, with the soccer player posting a number of pics and videos with his new girlfriend.

Jack Mac of Barstool Sports hailed Benzema on TikTok, telling his 1.2 million followers about the situation at the ceremony.

Over pictures of the soccer star with his award, Mac said: "The reason why Benzema was confirmed as the G.O.A.T. was not because he won the Ballon d'Or but instead, who he brought to the Ballon d'Or ceremony with him."

Showing a picture of Benzema with girlfriend Ozuna and the trophy he won for being voted the best soccer player in the world, Jack Mac continued: "Here's Karim after the ceremony with his Ballon d'Or trophy and his missus, who I mean, is amazing, and at the same event celebrating him as the best footballer in the world, he had his ex there.

"Afterwards, both of them were posting him on their [Instagram] stories. That's right, both of them."

Cora Gauthier

Cora Gauthier had posted a photo of her ex with the trophy, which she had captioned: "We are SO proud of You!"

Jack Mac finished by exclaiming: "He's the GOAT, that's why he's the GOAT"

While Mac thought that this was a highly unusual situation to see Benzema with his current girlfriend and ex, there were many who commented on the video saying that the explanation was simple.

Benzema shares a son with Gauthier, 5-year-old Ibrahim, He also has a daughter, 8-year-old Mélia, whom he shares with former girlfriend Chloé de Launay.

So, it is probably no great surprise why Jack Mac was called out in the comments over the reason for Gauthier's presence at the ceremony—she was supporting Benzema on one of the biggest nights of his career with her son and his sister.

One TikTok user pointed out in the comments: "Yeah because she's the mother of his son."

Another matter-of-factly wrote: "The ex is the mother of his child and probably wanted her there to look out for their son....cant find another reason."

A third commented: "That's the mother of his child though not just his 'ex'".

With Benzema's mother joining him on stage when he collected the award, it would seem that the French soccer player wanted the night to be a family affair.

For all the explanations why his ex and current girlfriend were there, the situation still divided fans with others saying that it proves he is the GOAT of relationships as well.

One fan tweeted: "Karim Benzema got both his ex- and present girlfriend to attend the Ballon d'Or Awards ceremony as he collected the ultimate prize. What can you call that? The Real G.O.A.T."

While another summed it up, tweeting: "Ultimate player? Benzema brings girlfriend and ex to Ballon d'Or."
