During their years as members of the royal family, the Princess of Wales and Duchess of Sussex have each had to expand their wardrobes to cover public appearances in every climate and weather condition; from printed dresses for summer to layered coats for winter.
During her time both as a working royal and private individual outside of the monarchy since 2020, Meghan has worn a number of monochrome looks, which are also favored by sister-in-law, Kate.
Both royals frequently wear fashion looks comprised completely of one color, following a trend which celebrity stylist and royal fashion expert, Miranda Holder, previously told Newsweek followed in the "fashion footsteps" of the monarchy's long-serving matriarch, the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Of the range of block colors loved by Meghan and Kate, they have both worn a number of all-white looks, layered and highlighted with standout accessories.
As winter sets in, we look at five of Kate and Meghan's top all-white fashion moments.
Monochrome Princess
In February 2015, The Princess of Wales visited the naval town of Portsmouth in England where she attended a series of nautically themed engagements while she was pregnant with her second child, Princess Charlotte.
For the occasion, the princess stepped out in a flattering, fit and flare all-white coat with matching covered belt from one of her favorite designer brands, Max Mara.
Kate paired accentuated the block-colored coat with black heeled pumps and a matching clutch bag.
Modern Maternity Wear
Perhaps taking a style cue from her sister-in-law, when Meghan was expecting her first baby, Prince Archie, she too put together an all-white maternity look which was worn to a gala performance of the play The Wider Earth at the Natural History Museum in London.
For the occasion, Meghan paired a white turtleneck dress by Calvin Klein with a chic tailored coat designed by Amanda Wakeley.
The duchess accessorized with sage green suede heeled pumps and a matching clutch bag.
Awards Gala Glamour
To accept a Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award with Prince Harry in December 2022, Meghan made a striking appearance on the blue carpet in New York City, wearing an off-the-shoulder couture gown from the French design house of Louis Vuitton.
The all-white dress featured a flattering asymmetric waist gather forming a tulip-shaped skirt and a fitted bodice with long sleeves.
Bold Message
For one of her most recent public appearances, Meghan and Prince Harry co-hosted a summit with their Archewell Foundation to mark World Mental Health Day in New York City.
The duchess attended wearing a bold off-the-shoulder two-piece outfit designed by American label, Altuzarra. The white outfit was accessorized with gold and multi-colored stone jewelry.
Together at Christmas
Kate Middleton hosted her third annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey on December 8, 2023, gathering members from communities around Britain who contribute to the development and safeguarding of early years in children.
For the event, Kate stood apart from the crowd, wearing an all white ensemble of layered separates, including a longline tailored coat designed by Chris Kerr, a jersey blouse and high-waisted pants from one of her favorite ready-to-wear brands, Holland Cooper.
The princess accessorized her look with a white leather handbag from the Scottish luxury leather goods brand, Strathberry.
