Text messages were sent from the cellphone of missing Colorado mom Kelsey Berreth days after she was last seen at a grocery store, authorities revealed on Monday.

Berreth, a 29-year-old mother-of-one, has not been seen since Thanksgiving when surveillance cameras caught her shopping with her daughter at a Safeway supermarket. Three days after disappearing, her cellphone pinged nearly 600 miles away in Gooding, Idaho, police said.

Woodland Park Police said on Monday that a text message from Berreth was sent to Doss Aviation, a Pueblo, Colorado, flight school where she worked. The message said that Berreth would be taking the following week off.

Berreth's fiancée, Patrick Frazee, also received a text from her phone on November 25, Police Chief Miles De Young said. Frazee last saw Berreth on November 22 when he picked up their 1-year-old daughter Kaylee.

More than a week after the texts were sent, on December 2, Berreth's mother reported her missing, CBS News reported. Investigators searched Berreth's home and found all of her suitcases, personal items and vehicles there.

The time it took to report her missing prompted questions about why her fiancée did not do it sooner.

Chief De Young told reporters that police were unaware of reports of domestic violence involving Berreth and Frazee. De Young said that Frazee's home had not been searched and that he was cooperative with investigators.

Frazee, who still has the couple's daughter in his custody, declined to attend Monday's press conference.

"We are treating Kelsey's disappearance as a missing person's case at this time. We have not identified anyone as a suspect, and are asking the public for any information that might help us find her," the police chief said, according to CBS News.

Berreth's mother, Cheryl Berreth, told reporters that her daughter was "not the kind that runs off."

"This is completely out of character," the concerned mother said. "Kelsey loves her dog, she loves her family and friends, and she loves her job."

Cheryl claimed that "someone knows where she's at" and she begged her daughter to return home. "Kelsey, we just want you home," she said, according to ABC News. "Call us if you can, and we won't quit looking."

Authorities asked anyone with information on Berreth's whereabouts to call Woodland Park Police Department at 719-687-9262 or email cadams@city-woodlandpark.org.

Berreth was described as a white female, 5-foot-3 and 110 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt, gray sweater, blue pants, brown purse and white shoes.
