Kesha's bad date story is taking over social media, with the pop star revealing she'd been ditched after refusing to "take a guy to the Taylor Swift afterparty."
It appears fame and good looks don't spare you from heartache, with the "TiK ToK" singer asking fans for some of their "worst date stories ??" on X, formerly Twitter.
"U first," commented one follower, with the 37-year-old responding: "I got dumped [because] I didn't take a guy to the Taylor Swift afterparty."
Since being shared on Saturday, Kesha's post has received over 426,000 views.
"Tay wouldn't have wanted him there," commented tiffany.
"You did the right thing Kesha. That's a red flag," said Bia.
"Good on you though for seeing through that [d********]," wrote Randy Chavez.
"Unfathomable to me how someone is going to fumble Kesha like that," said Graham.
"That's craaaaaaazy????" agreed Jenna. "Doesn't he know YOU are the party?"
Newsweek has reached out to Kesha for comment via Instagram.
Kesha revealed she was single in October, writing on X: "I just got dumped for the first time... in my LIFE... Can you believe it?" She added: "We're all f*****."
Although she didn't reveal the person's identity, Kesha was spotted kissing film producer Riccardo Maddalosso in Los Angeles in May. The Grammy nominee confirmed she was in a relationship during an interview with Self in June, but she declined to name the mystery man.
The pop star joked she was looking for a "sugar daddy" following the split, telling Cosmopolitan "I just never had one, it sounds really fun."
Kesha released her fifth studio album, Gag Order, in spring 2023. It was her final album under Kemosabe Records and RCA, with the "Blah Blah Blah" singer having fought to be freed from her record deal for almost a decade.
The legal dispute with her former producer Dr. Luke, the founder of Kemosabe Records, began in 2014 after she accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting her.
Kesha also accused Dr. Luke—real name Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald—of assaulting Katy Perry, although the latter rebuffed the claims.
Dr Luke denied the allegations and filed a defamation suit in response. In February 2020, a judge ruled that Kesha had defamed the 50-year-old by saying he has assaulted Perry. Kesha planned to appeal the ruling, but a settlement was reached shortly before a trial was scheduled to begin in July.
The hashtag "#FreeKesha" began trending on social media in 2022, after German singer Kim Petras defended the record executive on X.
In December 2023, Variety reported that Kesha has parted ways with Dr. Luke's Kemosabe label and distributor RCA Records, as well as her management company Vector Management.
