'Kevin Can F*** Himself' Season 2: Will There Be Another Season?

The penultimate episode of Kevin Can F*** Himself airs on AMC tonight—and the finale will land on AMC+ immediately afterwards.

As the first season ends, fans of the dark comedy that takes aim at the traditional family sitcom are wondering if Allison (Annie Murphy) and her husband Kevin will be back for a second helping.

Ahead of the final two episodes, here's everything we know about the future of Kevin Can F*** Himself.

Will There Be a Second Season of 'Kevin Can F*** Himself'?

AMC, the stars of Kevin Can F*** Himself and the show's production team have yet to discuss its future publicly.

The first season only launched in June so there might not be an announcement for a while.

Critical reception, audience opinion and viewer ratings all play a role in determining whether or not a show gets renewed.

According to TV Series Finale, Season 1 has averaged around 302,000 viewers per episode via live and same-day ratings. These numbers don't include people who watched on delay or streamed the show on other days.

The critical and audience reception for the show has remained generally positive. On Rotten Tomatoes the show has an average rating of 83% from reviews and Metacritic marks the show at 65/100 from the critics.

Audience approval hovers around the two-thirds mark too, with the show receiving an average rating of 6.6 out of 10 on IMDb.

The storyline of the show will also play into the renewal decision. When the final episode "Fixed" drops on AMC+ tonight, a cliffhanger could imply a second season is coming while a definitive ending will suggest that it's one and done for Kevin Can F*** Himself.

What Is 'Kevin Can F*** Himself' About?

In Kevin Can F*** Himself, Schitt's Creek star Annie Murphy plays Allison, a typical sitcom wife who has reached breaking point. Her clueless husband Kevin (Eric Petersen) appears to live in a fantasy world with his family and buddies, which is in total contrast to his wife's reality. Over the first season, Allison breaks out from the sitcom convention and starts taking the lead in her own life.

The show's name is a sweary play on the shortlived CBS sitcom Kevin Can Wait and many have speculated that the character of Kevin is based on the comedy stylings of Kevin James.

Other actors in the AMC series include Mary Hollis Inboden, Brian Howe, Raymond Lee and Robin Lord Taylor.

Episode 7 of Kevin Can F*** Himself, "Broken," airs on AMC at 9 p.m. ET tonight. Episode 8, "Fixed," will be available on AMC+ immediately afterwards.
