Kim Kardashian Wants to Be a Real Actor

Kim Kardashian has set her sights on Hollywood after her major role in Ryan Murphy's latest American Horror Story series.

The reality star and business mogul is set to star in and produce a female-driven comedy called The 5th Wheel. The film has been penned by Saturday Night Live alum Paula Pell and Janine Brito, and Kardashian has been very hands on when it comes to pitching the movie to studios, according to a report in online news site Deadline. Newsweek has contacted Kardashian's representatives by email for comment.

Best known for appearing on her family's various reality series first on E! and now, Hulu, Kardashian has had limited acting experience prior to her performance on the 12th season of AHS. She has voiced characters in two PAW Patrol animated movies and appeared as herself in 2018's Ocean's Eight. Kardashian also had roles in 2008's Disaster Movie and 2013's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.

However, Kardashian sparked conversation with her scene-stealing role and major acting debut in the most-recent season of Murphy's AHS anthology series. In the series titled Delicate, Kardashian plays a ruthless New York City publicist to an Oscar-hopeful actress played by Emma Roberts.

People reacted to Kardashian's new venture on X, formerly Twitter, noting her breakout performance on AHS Delicate and praised her for branching out into major roles.

"I'm not mad, I actually liked her in AHS," wrote one person, while another added: "one thing about kim k? she's going to get that bag! kris taught her well."

And a third posted: "everything she touches turns to gold."

A fourth person commented that "she's actually a pretty good actor."

Kardashian is no stranger to venturing out beyond her family's reality series. She has seen her fortune skyrocket, thanks to her SKIMS shapewear brand, which is estimated to be worth $4 billion, according to Forbes.

The business magazine also wrote that Kardashian's personal fortune is estimated to be worth around $1.7 billion, which ranks her in 2,259th position in the list of the world's richest people.

Kardashian spoke about making the decision to venture into the world of acting because she likes to "challenge myself."

"It's really fun to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new and grow. I'm so excited for the experience," Kardashian told Variety in May, when asked if she was taking acting lessons to prepare. She said: "I am, of course. It's a challenge. I like to challenge myself."
