Kim Kardashian Corset Photo Slammed

Kim Kardashian is being dubbed a "horrible role model" over her latest Instagram photos.

Kardashian stunned her 364 million followers on Tuesday with a cream corset by luxury French brand Mugler.

Demonstrating the iconic shape seen on Mugler's perfume bottles and runway designs—including a tiny waist, wide hips and sculpted bust—the 43-year-old paired the look with a simple updo and natural make up.

Some users were unimpressed by the snaps, accusing Kardashian of promoting unrealistic beauty standards.

"This is sick," commented Ana Liz Brito.

"That's how you look when you take 2 or more ribs out. Not a great image for you girls," said Deborah McLeron.

"Her organs are displaced. So cruel to the human anatomy," wrote Kimberley Walker.

"Way to promote unhealthy proportions in women," said Harlow Gardens.

"Unhealthy & unnatural," commented Jeanne Rose, while Hema Jain Katyal compared Kardashian to a "twisted silicon doll."

"To someone who has daughters herself, is that something that you want them to look up to?" asked Greta Cedeno-Deveikyte.

Newsweek has reached out to Kim Kardashian for comment via email.

Other users couldn't get enough of the look, with Natalie June Halcro writing: "Obsessed."

"So stunning!" agreed Senada Greca.

"Slay," said Danique Danielle Maria.

"The queen forever," wrote @thomasorlina.

The socialite's sister, Khloe Kardashian, also praised the outfit, commenting: "oh damn."

Kardashian has previously been slammed for selling corsets and waist-trainers through her underwear line SKIMS, despite the brand claiming to champion body positivity and inclusivity.

Corsets have a complicated history. Dating back to the 1400s, the garment was originally fitted with brutal materials such as whalebone.

Although adapted to changing fashion trends, the corset was designed to shape and slim a woman's figure and has been linked to health problems including digestion issues, organ compression and urinary incontinence.

Kardashian is also used to causing controversy online with her fashion choices.

The style icon caused uproar in January after wearing Balenciaga. The Spanish fashion house sparked controversy with its 2022 Christmas campaign, which showed children holding teddy bears dressed in what looked like bondage gear.

The American Horror Story actress is an official ambassador for the brand, posting photos of herself flaunting the label to Instagram.

Photos of Kardashian in a pink lace jumpsuit drew attention for all the wrong reasons in August. Instead of focusing on her attire, Instagram users took offense to the caption.

"When you don't sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice," she wrote alongside the snap, with fans accusing Kardashian of being tone deaf and out of touch, given her immense wealth.
