Kim Kardashian Goes Viral for Thinking Fan Was Homeless

A photo of Kim Kardashian giving food to a man she believed to be homeless about six years ago has gone viral on social media.

Back in October 2017, the reality TV star and entrepreneur was photographed handing out food to homeless people in Los Angeles. Accompanied by her daughter, North, her nephew, Mason, and her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, the star joined a small group to hand out provisions such as fruit, vegetables and canned food.

However, one of the people who received an offering from Kim Kardashian has revealed that he was only present on the day because he had hoped to meet the TV personality's then-husband, Kanye "Ye" West.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, on February 23, musician Breezy Supreme shared a photo of the moment he came face-to-face with Kardashian. The image showed Kardashian smiling at Supreme, who stood with his back to the camera as he received the food from her.

Captioning the throwback image, Supreme wrote: "That 1 time when Kim Kardashian gave me some food because she thought I was homeless but I was really just there to meet Kanye."

As of press time, the post had been viewed more than 7.8 million times. Newsweek has contacted a representative of Kardashian via email for comment.

When one X user asked Supreme if West was "even there" at the time, the There Goes the Neighborhood singer responded with an emphatic "F*** NO."

That's not to say that his venture didn't prove to be somewhat fruitful, as Supreme added in a follow-up post that West "wasn't there and yes I still took the food."

The post sparked a number of amused reactions, some of which Supreme reposted on his timeline.

"She looks so proud of herself," YouTuber and Twitch streamer Finn McKenty said of Kardashian.

"I've been crying at this for 2 [minutes]," another X user reacted.

Many other X users pointed out that it was only natural for Kardashian to believe that Supreme was homeless, given the nature of the event.

"If you're showing up to a homeless food drive, and even in the line for food... I think it's safe to make that assumption," one opined.

"Well you were waiting in line for food at a homeless shelter so yeah," another stated.

"You showed up to a homeless food drive where they're giving food out & you try to make it seem like she was the one that assumed you were homeless for no reason," another weighed in.

Kardashian's philanthropic efforts over the years have included sending $500 to 1,000 people ahead of the holidays in December 2020. At the time, countless people had been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In March of that year, the former Keeping Up With the Kardashians star announced her Skims shapewear brand was donating $1 million to struggling mothers and children who had been affected by COVID in some capacity.

She also participated in the All in Challenge, in which people could donate money for their chance to win lunch or dinner with a participating celebrity, in April 2020. All proceeds generated from the challenge were used to help feed the hungry at the height of coronavirus lockdowns through organizations including Meals on Wheels, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, America's Food Fund and No Kid Hungry.

Kardashian and West married in Florence, Italy, in May 2014. They share four children—daughters North, 10, and Chicago, 6, and sons Saint, 8, and Psalm, 4. Kardashian filed for divorce in 2021, and their union was officially dissolved the following year.
