'Better Call Saul' Season 6: Will Kim Wexler Die? Fate of Lawyer Explored

Better Call Saul is hurtling towards the events of Breaking Bad, meaning that the fate of certain characters will finally be revealed.

One character whose future remains up in the air is Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn), wife of Jimmy McGill aka Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).

There are many ways that Kim's story could go and her absence from Breaking Bad has prompted fans to speculate over what will happen to her in the spinoff show's final season.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Seehorn teased that the final season would see Kim have her day of reckoning and she also called the show's last episodes "stunning and shocking."

Seehorn told the publication: "She cannot keep the internal and the external separate any longer. Kim's compartmentalizing was always going to have a reckoning day—and it comes."

Here are all the fan theories for what could happen to Kim in Better Call Saul Season 6.

1. Kim Is Going to Die

The most tragic option for Kim is that she could die at the hands of one of the many villains in the series which is most evident by her fear over the news that Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) is alive and could come after her and Jimmy.

In an interview with Collider, Seehorn suggested things may come to a head between her character and the members of the cartel, like Lalo or even Gustavo Fring (Giancarlo Esposito).

She said: "I can't say too many specifics, but as Bob has said, [with] the Venn diagram of these two stories, there's never been more crossover than this season. People are inviting a lot of danger into their lives."

Esposito told Newsweek that the season "won't be good" for Kim or Jimmy: "There's some real danger flash points here that really tie into the world of Saul Goodman.

"S'all good man, but it's not gonna be all good for Saul Goodman soon, and it's not going to be good for Kim Wexler either, his partner in crime.

"So you're going to be really surprised by what happens in the decisions they have to make in their lives as well and how it connects to Gustavo Fring."

2. Kim Is Going to Prison

So far, Season 6 has seen Kim and Jimmy go after Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian) with an elaborate scheme that aims to discredit him as a lawyer, like planting drugs in his locker at his private club.

One theory is that Kim could end up in prison, and one way this could happen is if the couple's schemes are discovered which will result in one of them being sent away.

In her interview with EW, Seehorn teased that there was more to her character's suggestion than fans are aware of.

She said: "If you think you know Kim, you don't know all of Kim. But probably the even harder thing to wrestle with is holding opposing thoughts about a person in your head at one time. She is everything you thought.

"It isn't just the side of Robin Hood do-gooding always, either, which I think people would like to assign her shenanigans to. There's quite a bit of ego and quite a bit of God complex happening."

3. Kim Is Going in Witness Protection

One fan theory suggests that Kim is in witness protection and will appear in the flash-forward sequences, where Saul now uses the alias Gene Takovic and works at a Cinnabon.

It has been suggested that Kim could work at a Claire's Accessories in the same shopping mall where fans have seen Gene work over the course of five seasons.

This theory is actually favored by Seehorn herself, as she said on Friday Night in with the Morgans, per Den of Geek: "There are people who are sure she works at Claire's Accessories next to the Cinnabon. I always say I need my own combover and moustache."

4. Kim Will Leave Jimmy

One way for Kim to escape the events of Better Call Saul unscathed is for her to leave Jimmy, by not being in the picture then perhaps she could be safe.

However, Kim and Jimmy are very much in love so it doesn't seem reasonable for her to leave him because of a problem in their relationship, though it is possible that they could decide together that she leave in order to protect her.
