Whenever food is involved, dogs have their eyes on the prize at all times, but that especially rings true when it comes to human food.
Sure, dogs will follow you around while you prepare their dog bowl, but when it comes to what their owner eats, they can't get any closer. They'll stare into your soul, begging for a little taste and it's nearly impossible to say no to those puppy dog eyes. But one dog takes monitoring human food to the next level.
Marley the Labrador gave himself the title of head chef since he needs to be in the know of everything that gets cooked in his house. And like any chef, Marley wouldn't mind tasting the quality of food his humans eat, you know, to check that it meets standards.
"You will catch Marley watching the oven from time to time," the canine's owner who goes by @lab_the_inhaler on TikTok told Newsweek via the social media platform.
While the video's caption stated that this is Marley's "favourite TV show," he technically has a favorite episode. The pup's owner told Newsweek that Marley especially loves to watch the oven when roast beef is cooking.
He'll stand right up against the window of the oven, snout pressed up against it. Thankfully, Marley's owners leave the light on so he can watch as the food cooks.
In the 10-second TikTok video, Marley got so invested in watching the pizzas cook that he jumped back when his owner caught him. The dedicated pup didn't even hear the owner sneaking up behind him.
TikTok Users React
The TikTok video, which was posted to the social media platform on January 24, has currently reached over 66,500 views, 2,791 likes, and 58 comments. A majority of viewers were the least bit surprised by the video, claiming it is typical Labrador behavior.
One TikTok user wrote what was going through Marley's mind: "'I wasn't longingly staring at the pizza dad, I was just checking on it.'"
"Bro waiting for his meal," commented another user.
A third added: "Tell us you eat table food too without telling us."
Other users were supporting Marley, saying that they too do the same thing when pizza is in the oven.
"I'm so him," commented one TikTok user.
"its ok Marley, I watch the pizza too," another added.
