Laughter at Labrador Tidying Up by 'Retrieving' Wrapping Paper

Christmas morning always starts calmly with the presents delicately placed and wrapped up under the tree, but as soon as one gift opens, madness ensues, with wrapping paper flying everywhere.

Parents try to keep up with collecting all the trash, but it's not as simple as it looks. Luckily, one dad discovered a life hack that will have all the dog parents doing this by next Christmas. All it involved was putting the fur babies to work.

This dad dog trained the Labrador to go over to the person unwrapping a gift, take it from their hands, then bring it back to the dad. If that wasn't precious enough, the dog sits and waits for her dad to ask for the wrapping paper.

The TikTok video posted on Christmas quickly reached viral numbers with over 3 million views in two days and over 633,000 likes. Viewers are in awe of the dog sweetly agreeing to the job at hand. Sorry, the job at paw!

Not only did this Labrador do her job, she did it enthusiastically, basically ripping some of the wrapping paper out of people's hands. She was on a time crunch, as plenty of presents needed to be opened.

This sweet Labrador really took the meaning behind retrieve to a new level. One user wrote: "Receive, rejoice, retrieve."

Another added: "Thing about a Labrador is they do be retrieving it."

"What a wonderful way to include the dog in something this breed naturally loves to do!" commented a third.

If only everyone could be this excited to do their job, then that 9-to-5 lifestyle wouldn't be so bad. And hopefully, she was getting compensated correctly with endless treats, a Christmas bonus, if you will.

Labrador Retrievers

Labrador retrievers consistently rank as one of the most popular dog breeds in the United States. In 2022, they dipped from the most popular to second-most popular, with French bulldogs earning the top spot.

This breed is friendly, outgoing and a great companion dog. Labradors are patient and trainable with a very good temperament, making them a perfect addition to families with children.

One of the reasons the dog in the video was so excited to perform the task is because the breed has an eagerness to please. Plus, they're workaholics, as Labrador retrievers were originally bred to collect ducks, then became game-hunting companions.
