Lana Del Rey Gets Knocked Over During Super Bowl Celebration

Taylor Swift had a variety of celebrity friends in her VIP suite celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs' win on Sunday, including singer Lana Del Rey.

Following a nail-biting showdown, Travis Kelce's Chiefs squeezed a 25-22 victory in overtime against the San Francisco 49ers at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Chiefs fans were over the moon with the win and videos online have shown people celebrating in the crowd.

Unfortunately, when Swift and the likes of rapper Ice Spice and actor Blake Lively were celebrating the Chiefs' win, Del Rey was knocked over.

The entertainment X account (formerly Twitter) posted a video of the incident and wrote: "Lana Del Rey gets knocked over during the #SuperBowl celebration in Taylor Swift's suite." At the time of writing, it had been viewed 1.4 million times.

In the clip, Del Rey can be seen covering her face as people around her to celebrate the Chiefs' win. A man standing next to her continuously jumps up and down in excitement before knocking her down. The singer can be seen laughing in the video before falling out of sight.

Newsweek contacted Del Rey's publicist for comment via email Monday.

People took to the comments to share their sympathy for the singer.

"justice for Lana!" one person wrote alongside crying emojis.

"Somebody need to go and check on Lana Del Rey... now," said another.

"Poor girl omg. hope shes ok," a third person commented.

"SHE CAN'T CATCH A BREAK," someone else wrote, referencing the fact that she was nominated in five categories at the 2024 Grammys but ultimately went home with none.

Others theorized that the internet would somehow find a way to blame Swift for Del Rey being knocked over.

"They're gonna blame this on Taylor as well," one person posted.

Another added: "Watch everyone blame it on Taylor."

On February 4 Swift made history by becoming the first artist to win Album of the Year four times with her 2022 release Midnights. She couldn't contain her excitement when her name was called, and she brought Del Rey up onto the stage with her. The pair had previously worked together for Swift's song "Snow on the Beach," which appeared on the winning album.

Del Rey's album Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd had also been nominated for Album of the Year, but lost to Swift.

At the time, people thought Del Rey looked awkward and uncomfortable as she stood to the side as Swift gave her acceptance speech but she eventually took to social media to clear the air.

In a screenshot published by People, the singer commented on a fan's post on Instagram, writing: "I literally just loved being there. I love to see everyone, get the tea and hang out. Get dressed up. I literally did not feel 1 ounce of negative emotion at any point in that award ceremony. It was pure funniness and laughter."
