Lara Trump's Response to Being Called 'Stupid' Takes Internet by Storm

Lara Trump has responded to someone calling her stupid—and criticized those who vote for the Democratic Party in the process.

During an episode of The Right View with Lara Trump, the former television producer—who is the wife of Donald Trump's son Eric Trump and is co-chair of the Republican National Committee—said those who vote Democrat are influenced by emotion, not facts.

Ron Filipkowski—vocal Trump critic and editor-in-chief at the Meidas Touch media outlet—shared a snippet of her show to X, formerly Twitter.

"Lara Trump took questions from the audience on her podcast last night. One person asked her, 'Is Lara Trump as stupid as she appears to be.' She responds: 'Nothing stupid over here, I've actually done my research,'" he captioned the post.

Newsweek contacted the Republican National Committee via its website for comment Friday.

"Oh! This is a nice one, 'Is Lara Trump as stupid as she appears to be?' What is it that—that's stupid? Let me ask you that, sir or mam. I am—again, I say this all the time, I'm just giving you information and the facts," she said during the episode of her show.

"What is stupid is voting for a party that hates you and hates this country. What's stupid is voting for a party that ultimately wants the destruction of America and I assume you are one of those people. Nothing stupid over here. I've actually done my research, I actually have the real information, I am actually not influenced by emotion but cold, hard facts.

"You may want to get on that bandwagon because I'll tell you what, it's all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows now, but if something happens, you're going to look back and you're going to say, 'Man, I bet Lara Trump was right. I should've listened to her.'"

In the first two hours, the clip hit 100,000 views and had over 250 comments. At the time of writing, it had been viewed 391,400 times and had 620 comments.

People took to the replies to express how unimpressed they were with Lara Trump.

"Lara could have saved a lot of time by just saying yes I am as stupid as it appears! Next question," one person wrote.

"I can answer this. Yes, yes she is. If you don't believe me, just look at who she willingly married," someone else commented.

"'Lara Trump was right. I should have listened to her.' are words nobody except her is ever going to say," said another.

A fourth person added: "'Done my own research' is a useless statement for people who don't know how to research something.'

While the majority of commenters on Filipkowski's post criticized Lara Trump, commenters on one of her own posts were more positive.

"You don't know how much we appreciate you working on protecting our voting integrity! I was hoping something was being done. Thank you!" one X user said.

"Lara you are great," said another.

Lara Trump is an avid supporter of her father-in-law Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election. President Joe Biden and Trump are expected to face off against each other yet again in the race for the White House in November.

While Trump is looking for a second nonconsecutive term in the White House, he is currently facing numerous civil and criminal cases moving through the courts.

Biden is aiming for a second term as voters express concerns that the 81-year-old is too old, and he faces struggling approval ratings and a lack of enthusiasm for his campaign.
