Toddler triplets have the internet in stitches with their natural reaction to hearing a song, garnering a lot of appreciation from viewers.
The TikTok recounting the situation is a resurfaced video that was first shared on November 23, 2020, but recently resurfaced on April 14 in response to a question from another TikToker who asked which video by the creator, @wildernesthomestead, or Kelsey Janak, has the most views.
The video by @wildernesthomestead, or Kelsey Janak, shows video from a ring camera inside the children's bedroom and is captioned, "They're almost three, and this song still slaps #triplets #tripletsoftiktok #passthebic #comedancewithme #screamittout #dancingbabies #momtok #babytok #parenting," and it has surpassed 9.7 million views with 1.5 million likes.
The TikToker could be seen getting clothes out from a set of drawers in the corner of the screen as the three toddlers—two boys and a girl—stood in their individual cribs behind her. Suddenly, the Hamster Dance Song by Hampton and the Hamsters started to play from another room.
"Husband turned the Hamster Dance song on from work while I was getting them dressed," the screen read in text overlay.
The TikToker looked in the direction from where the music was coming from, and suddenly one of the babies started to bounce up and down, dancing with their hands on the railing.
Next, the toddler in the middle crib got down on their knees and started moving in the same way as their sibling as they danced along. Both toddlers danced together in their cribs, but the video didn't stop there.
Even the mother got into the groove of things as she moved along to the music. She didn't seem to notice her dancing toddlers just behind her back though, and she kept going about her task.
Finally, the third baby joined in while facing the other kids, as they all danced in unison.
This isn't the only video of the triplets dancing together either; they're highlighted in a number of TikTok videos moving as a group. And if dancing triplets seem rare, it may be because births involving three or more children have declined by 41 percent from 1998 to 2014. The occurrence amounted to one in every 515 births in 1998 as opposed to one in every 880 births in 2014, according to the CDC.
In addition, triplet and higher-order birth rates dropped by around 50 percent or greater for women that were 25 and over. The descent was attributed to changes when it comes to fertility treatments.
Newsweek reached out to TikToker @wildernesthomestead for comment, and over 7,800 comments have poured in over the toddlers' viral reaction to the music, and people really seemed to appreciate it.
"I love how one starts dancing and the others follow," a TikToker pointed out. "So stinking cute!"
One viewer called the situation "teamwork parenting," adding, "Keeping those babies entertained while mom is picking out clothes. Hilarious."
A TikToker thought the father must have had ulterior motives. "He had to show his co-workers how cute they are," they said. "It's the equivalent of the photo keeper in wallets back in the day."
Some people pointed out the mother's moves. "Honestly I don't know what's funnier... The kids jamming out or you subtly jamming out as well," a viewer joked.
Many people seemed to approve of the viral moment. "This is exactly how I wanted to start my day!" a TikToker revealed.
One viewer mentioned that "the first baby is like, 'Come on guys! Let's dance.'"
Other comments of appreciation included things like, "This is the serotonin boost I needed today," and "This is so pure."
This isn't the only viral moment involving children.
A group of kids crashed a bride and groom's first dance.
A mother dragged her son on the ground through the airport on a leash.
And a number of children were scared by the Easter Bunny during an unexpected visit.
