Letters Live, a celebration of literary correspondence, is set to return to the London stage in October with stars including The Fall and The X-Files actor Gillian Anderson performing.

Actor Toby Jones, model Lily Cole and former Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker are also set to perform between October 4 and October 8 at London's Freemasons' Hall. Other names include Sanjeev Bhaskar, John Bishop, Jamie Cullum and wife Sophie Dahl, Miriam Margolyes, Michael Palin and Robert Rinder.

For Jones, it marks a return to the literary event, where he roused the audience with a comedic performance of Winston Churchill, reading a letter he wrote to The Times newspaper in 1919. (Watch an exclusive clip of the performance above.)

Letters Live is inspired by author Shaun Usher's Letters of Note and Simon Garfield's To the Letter. Each night sees an array of entertainment industry figures read letters written by figures ranging from Gandhi to David Bowie. Previous performers have included Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston and Jude Law.

Jamie Byng, director of Letters Live, said: "This third run of Letters Live shows to be held here in London looks set to be as memorable as anything we have ever done. The combination of great talent, remarkable letters, three important charities, packed houses and an amazing venue should result in five unforgettable evenings that celebrate the humble letter and its immense power. And every night is unique."
