Why is Lil Pump Going to Jail? Gucci Gang Rapper in Legal Trouble

Gazzy "Lil Pump" Garcia broke probation late last month and is headed to jail. On Aug. 29, the 18-year-old rapper was arrested in Miami for driving without a license. According to the police report, Lil Pump was pulled over after the cops noticed that he was driving a Rolls-Royce with a Mini Cooper's license plates.

Pump had been arrested before in February for firing a gun inside his San Fernando Valley apartment.

In a video on his Instagram Lil Pump, decked out in expensive jewelry, explains the situation to his fans.

"I'm just going to get straight to the point," Lil Pump says in the video. "Y'all seen what happened in Miami. I got arrested over some bullshit. I'm on probation in L.A. I just violated my PO, so I gotta go in and do a couple months." Pump will still release music while incarcerated, saying he's going to release some "crazy ass shit" while his management monitors his social accounts.

The rapper hasn't released any information about the details of his probation, so fans are stuck speculating as to what actually went wrong. Fraudulent use of a license plate is a misdemeanor in most states.

Lil Pump has been riding on a wave of success in 2018. His hit song from his self-titled debut album, Gucci Gang, went platinum in January. His last music video for "Drug Addicts" featuring Charlie Sheen has more than 85 million views on YouTube.
