Loki episode 1 recap (spoilers)

Last week's season opener introduced audiences to the Time Variance Authority (TVA), which captured Loki directly after he teleported away from the Battle of New York in 2012. The TVA exists outside of the Sacred Timeline, and is on the lookout for Variances, like Loki, who threaten to branch off from that timeline, creating a dangerous multiverse.

The TVA is where Loki met Mobius M. Mobius, portrayed by Wilson (Zoolander). Mobius recruits the Trickster God to help him hunt down a variant who has been killing his agents. Loki is the only one who can help because the person they're hunting... is Loki.

What will happen in Loki episode 2?

The new trailer certainly makes it look as if there's more action on the way in later episodes of Loki.

Within the brief 15-second preview, there are several flashes of Loki fighting with his customary blades against unidentified foes. Another image sees Loki, with his trademark helmet and horns, being held at knifepoint by a large group.

He's also set to get out of the bland surroundings of the TVA. Mobius and Loki are seen at an ancient marketplace with a cloud of dust rushing towards them, while Loki, typically, proposes a toast to himself while in a room with a heavy purple hue.

These intriguing set pieces suggest there's plenty more to come from the third Marvel Cinematic Universe series to arrive on Disney+. With the added element of time travel, timelines and the fact that Loki is considered dead according to the rest of the MCU heroes, Loki the series could have long-lasting implications for the rest of Phase 4.
