Does the Robinson Family Die in 'Lost In Space' Season 3?

Netflix's adaptation of Lost in Space came to a conclusion with its third season, which was released on Wednesday, December 1.

The show follows the Robinsons, Maureen (Molly Parker), John (Toby Stephens) and their children Will (Maxwell Jenkins), Judy (Taylor Russell) and Penny (Mina Sundwall), and their lives on an Earth-like planet.

And after just three seasons, the show revealed the fate of the family and how they fared against an army of hostile alien robots.

Does the Robinson Family Die in 'Lost in Space'?

Lost in Space Season 3 sees the Robinson family finally make it to the Alpha Centauri planetary system, with the SAR and alien robots close behind.

In the finale, the Robinsons and other surviving humans use their Jupiter ships to form a barrier against SAR, which destroys its ship but doesn't stop several robots from landing on the planet.

Some of the robots are freed from their programming and start to attack SAR, and in order to try and get all the robots to do the same Dr. Smith (Parker Posey) takes Will and Robot (Brian Steele) to the latter's home planet.

There Robot gives Will his mechanical heart, sacrificing himself and saving the boy in the process, and putting his "spirit" in the metal organ.

Moved by this sacrifice, the alien robots on Robot's home planet give the two humans a recorded command that will free the others from SAR's clutches.

Will and Dr. Smith return to the fray, and Will allows SAR to stab him in the heart again so that Robot can take over the other robot's body, and end the war by shutting down its ship's engine.

Having saved the day, the robots learn to coexist peacefully with humans and the Robinson family live to tell the tale.

Maureen works towards building the spaceship Solidarity alongside the robots and Don (Ignacio Serricchio), while John also enjoys a peaceful life.

Will and Robot head off on a voyage through space together, with the show ending when the pair arrive at a new planet.

Meanwhile, Will's sibling Judy decides to continue practicing medicine, and Penny becomes a writer and enjoys her relationship with Vijay Dhar (Ajay Friese).

Dr. Smith turns herself in for her past misdeeds, and Maureen pays her a visit in jail to tell her she can come see the Robinsons when she is eventually freed.

So, the answer is no the Robinson family members do not die in Season 3 and, instead, they are given the happy ending they deserve.
