'Luke Cage' Season 2 Netflix Release Time: When Do New Episodes Premiere?

The long-awaited return of Harlem's finest is around the corner. Luke Cage returns Friday, June 22. But exactly what time will Luke Cage Season 2 be on Netflix, you ask? New episodes arrive at 3:01 a.m. EDT. For folks out West, that's 12:01 a.m. PDT.

Luke Cage Season 2 Overview: What To Expect

Luke Cage Season 2 follows the titular character Carl Lucas, played by Mike Colter, as he adjusts to life as a recently exonerated superhero in Harlem, New York. Mustafa Shakir plays the season's formal villain, Bushmaster, though do not underestimate Alfre Woodard's starring role as Mariah Dillard. While not straightforward villains, expect Mariah and Theo Rossi's Shades to ruffle Luke's feathers too. Elsewhere is a posthumous performance from Reg E. Cathey, playing Luke's father, in addition to the return of Simone Missick as Detective Misty Knight (now sporting a bionic arm).

For comic book fans, look forward to at least a taste of two of Marvel's favorite teams. Daughters of the Dragon pairs Misty Knight and Iron Fists's Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick). Expect a hint of Heroes For Hire, a team-up between Luke Cage and Iron Fist himself (Finn Jones). In the comic books, all these characters are friends who have operated both independently and together as a large group.

Luke Cage Season 2 Cast & Characters: Who To Watch For

There are three supporting characters to watch for this season. First is Claire Temple, Luke's girlfriend played by Rosario Dawson. They were headed on a "happily ever after" trajectory in The Defenders, but there's no telling how their relationship has developed since. Second is Jeremiah Craft, whose role as neighborhood kid Dave in Season 1 expands significantly in Season 2. There's also Gabrielle Dennis as Tilda Johnson, Mariah's daughter. A recent trailer teased a significant storyline exploring the family history that holds back a deeper relationship.

Footage shows Luke showing off his abilities on television, which could be what attracts the attention of Bushmaster all the way in Brooklyn. Will you be tuning in Friday for more Harlem adventures with Luke? Sound off below
