Hearts Melt as Maine Coon Owner Shares the Thing 'Nobody Prepares You For'

One cat owner took to TikTok to share her pet's adorable transformation from 8 weeks old to 1 year old, to the delight of pet lovers online.

Draco the Maine Coon (@firstclassmainecoons) is a cat-fluencer with 54,000 followers on TikTok. The footage of the ginger cat, whose page is run by his owner, has been viewed 26.6 million times, leaving fans impressed by the animal's change from an adorable kitten to a majestic lion.

The video is captioned, "8 weeks to one year." Text overlay on the clip showing Draco's transformation says, "Nobody prepares you for this."

Some commenters hilariously said that Draco looked like Hellboy star Ron Perlman.

One viewer wrote, "The paws were a dead giveaway that your kitten was going to grow up to be Ron Pearlman."

Another joked: "Ron Purrman."

Eagle-eyed viewers noted that Draco is polydactyl, meaning that he was born with an extra toe. Polydactyly is a genetic mutation present in a number of cat breeds, including Maine Coons.

One TikToker said: "Polydactyl cats are the best."

Another person comented: "I always wanted an orange kitty. When I finally found one, he was polydactyl. Now I have two that match."

The Maine Coon is the oldest breed in the United States. They are known as gentle giants, according to the pet advice website The Spruce Pets, and are one of the largest domestic felines.

With dog-like personalities, the felines can grow up to an impressive 20 pounds and grow up to 30 inches long. The cats are renowned for their shaggy coats and tufty ears.

Draco has an impressive frame with strawberry blond coloring and sizeable paws.

In the "before" frame, Draco creeps cutely towards the camera. Although he is a fraction of his adult size, he still has his trademark impressive paws.

In the "after" footage, Draco looks lion-esque, adoring commenters agreed.

"In this cat, you can see how they descended from lions!!! What a majestic creature," one viewer wrote in the comments.

"That's a whole miniature lion," another TikTok user posted.

To illustrate the sheer size of the Maine Coon breed, another TikTok user Chas (@through.the.lleaves) posted a video to compare her giant cat to her smaller felines.
