A woman has revealed the extreme lengths her boyfriend is willing to go to in order to ensure their puppy stays dry while he "goes potty" outside in the rain.
Sydney Tobolski took to TikTok to share footage of her partner providing their four-month-old mini dachshund with a "human shield" to protect him from the elements. The footage of her other half's selfless deed has already been watched over 300,000 times.
The clip is a reminder of the lengths some dog owners are willing to go to to protect their canine companions. A survey of 2,000 U.S. dog owners conducted by OnePoll on behalf of JustFoodForDogs laid bare just how far some would go with 72 percent saying they would gladly put themselves in harm's way to save their dog.
Much of that is down to the way owners view their dog, with 78 percent of those quizzed as part of the OnePoll study saying they considered their canine to be a fully-fledged member of the family.
Tobolski's mini dachshund may have only been with them for a couple of months at best, but it's clear there is already a lot of love between them, especially as, according to the caption accompanying the clip, it took the tiny dog a considerable amount of time to actually do his business, leaving his human companion soaked as result. Many of those watching the footage on TikTok were full of praise for Tobolski's boyfriend. One user wrote that her partner was displaying "massive green flag energy right there" with another TikToker writing that he is "such a good dad" before adding: "bet he still peed on the carpet when he got inside though."
"He's such a good man," a third commented while a fourth user said he was definitely "husband material" on the basis of the footage.
Another was full of praise for both man and dog, writing: "I see two keepers." Others were keen to point out the obvious though. "Hear me out... an umbrella," one user wrote with Tobolski responding: "that would be too easy." "I would've used an umbrella but that's just me," another added. "Thanks," Tobolski responded. "You should get one."
Plenty remained full of praise for her partner's efforts. One viewer declared: "this is true love" with another user adding: "he's going to be a great dad" and a third writing: "That right there is devotion."
