Man Discovers Car Trashed, Security Camera Footage Reveals Unlikely Culprit

A motorist who discovered his prized car covered in grass and mud was left shocked after the culprit was revealed.

In a video posted to TikTok under the handle pocketfuloftiny, a user based out in California shared footage showing the state he discovered his car in one morning.

Clumps of mud and grass are visible on the back of the white car. The driver said he initially suspected a malicious passerby of being guilty of trashing the back of the vehicle.

However, when he reviewed footage from a nearby security camera, it turned out to be something altogether different. You can watch the video here.

In reality, the mess was not left by a "tweaker" as the car's owner had originally assumed but rather by a passing black dog and their owner. As the video shows, while the pet pooch's owner was busy cleaning up after her canine companion, the dog was vigorously clawing away at a patch of grass close to where the car was parked.

Once the woman has finished cleaning up after her dog, they walk off with the car owner noting that she clearly "doesn't realize" what her canine has been up to. But while she may not have noticed his antics on that occasion, most dog owners are very much aware of just how naughty their four-legged friends can be.

That much was apparent from the results of a recent Forbes Advisor survey of 2,000 U.S. dog owners. The survey found that 56 percent of dog owners polled considered their canines to be naughty.

Twelve percent said their dog usually misbehaves while five percent said they always misbehave. By contrast, just eight percent of dog owners considered their canines to be well behaved.

Though most were aware of their dog misbehaving, there was little in the way of guilt among those polled with just nine percent saying they felt extremely responsible for their dog's behavior while 20 percent felt very responsible.

For many of those watching on TikTok, the dog's behavior in the video was very much familiar. "My dog does this and kicks dirt/grass/mud all over me," one viewer wrote. "My dog did this towards a lady with her stroller the other day I've never yanked that leash faster," another said.

Some felt a degree of sympathy for the dog's owner. "To be fair he seems like the type of owner that would've cleaned it if he saw," one TikToker commented.

Another, meanwhile, spotted the fact the dog was seemingly looking directly down the barrel of the camera as he flicked up the grass and mud. "Bro he's looking right down the camera," one said while another added: "Staring straight into the camera feels like insult to injury."

Something tells us this car owner is going to be extra vigilant over the next few weeks.
