Fury Over Man Pretending He Married Wife's Sister and Had Kids: 'Divorce'

A Reddit post claiming to reveal the fictitious double-life a husband built for himself online has gone viral, with readers horrified at his alleged actions.

According to the post, shared by a user claiming to be the man's heartbroken wife, he had been secretly obsessing on her sister in a series of lies.

The husband even said to friends online that he was married to the sister and that the kids she shares with her husband were his. His fantasy was uncovered only when his wife began looking on his computer.

A 2017 study by Columbia University researchers of 600 participants showed people will have illicit thoughts about others in pre-existing relationships.

A third wrote they had thoughts about engaging in relations with another person already in a relationship but never told anyone, with another 20 percent saying they kept these thoughts a secret from some people.

But while it's one thing to harbor such thoughts and desires, it's another to act on them. Yet the deception perpetrated by the husband in this viral post was a little different.

After the husband seemed obsessed that her sister had experienced some "weight gain," the wife discovered on his computer a series of conversations with a friend in which he said he was "in love or at least has a crush" on her sister. He had been watching pictures of her from Facebook while touching himself sexually.

Then the wife found that the husband "pretends that my sister and her children are his family" in chats with fellow gamers online.

"He proudly brags about having her," the wife wrote on Reddit. "His profile picture is of her, her children and him from a Christmas party."

The wife said she was "shocked and disturbed and very confused" as he has always been affectionate to her.

She posted that she is especially upset at his apparent desire to father her sister's kids, because they have a "childfree" marriage and he told her he "never wanted children."

She is now planning on divorcing her husband, writing his actions were "beyond creepy and beyond salvation." He said to her that he is "disgusted with himself" and he loved her but "wasn't in love" with her anymore.

He said he had been posing online as "a richer man" with "a beautiful wife and beautiful children" as it "gives him the rush he needs to cope with reality." The Reddit poster told the husband never to bother her again and that the marriage was officially over.

A Reddit user posting as Mountain_Monitor_262 wrote: "Sounds like you have a clear head and you're still good with your sister and family...you are going to be okay."

Amore-7 commented: "Make sure to get evidence and screenshots/photos of the weird posts and behavior...that may be good to have for your divorce proceedings."

But Beicecreamorbenothin wrote: "She [the sister] deserves to know that he is a creepo so that she can stay far away from him."

"He's showing her pictures online, telling people they are together," Etoiaster commented of the poster's sister. "What happens if that circles back to town and someone tells her husband? This is not something he's doing in private."

HelpfulName wrote: "Your husband is stalking her, it's entirely possible he's only with you to be closer to her. His obsession with your sister is not healthy or sane, when you divorce him, who knows what actions he will take for his obsession.

"Sit down with your sister and her husband and explain what you're doing and why, show them your proof," the Redditor added. "Ask them NOT to confront him...until the divorce is final so that you're protected as much as possible."
