Transfer News: Anthony Martial Out at Manchester United, Liverpool to Poach Star

With just over three weeks remaining of the Premier League season, the teams are already well underway in their preparations for the summer.

Plans for pre-season tours were released earlier this week, but now managers and board executives will be discussing the new additions they want to be brought in.

Here, Newsweek guides you through all the news, rumors and gossip in the Premier League transfer market on Thursday morning:

We start at Old Trafford. Manchester United are expected to see an overhaul of players after falling far behind rivals and newly crowned champions Manchester City. That will include some departures, with The Sun saying that Lyon and Juventus are both interested in 22-year-old French forward Anthony Martial.

Arsenal are also monitoring the situation with Martial, according to the Evening Standard, but may not make a bid as Arsene Wenger has highlighted more important areas of his squad to improve.

Paul Pogba is another prominent member of the team that could be on his way out of the club. But, according to the Daily Star, goalkeeper David de Gea and midfielder Michael Carrick have made attempts to resolve the issues between Pogba and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are the newest addition to the Premier League after winning promotion last week from the Championship. But they may be about to lose their best player as Liverpool, talkSPORT say, want to sign 21-year-old Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves.

Mauricio Pochettino is also plotting some moves at Tottenham Hotspur. According to ESPN, the Argentine coach is considering a move for Leicester City's 21-year-old winger Demarai Gray, having made attempts to sign him last summer.

Tottenham are monitoring French left-back Layvin Kurzawa of Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Daily Mirror, but he is also wanted by Chelsea.

And finally, Belgian striker Christian Benteke looks to be on the market this summer as the Daily Mail say Crystal Palace are looking to sell. Chelsea were interested in the 27-year-old striker in January.
