Marjorie Taylor Greene's Remark About Jeffrey Epstein Has One Big Problem

Social media users claim that criticism from Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene aimed at Bill Clinton over the former president's links to Jeffrey Epstein could also be directed at Donald Trump.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the MAGA congresswoman lashed out at Clinton amid suggestions that he will be among the names revealed in court fillings to be unsealed this week relating to the billionaire financier and child sex offender who took his own life in August 2019.

The potential high-profile names will be disclosed as part of a settled civil lawsuit between Epstein's girlfriend and fellow child sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell and Virginia Giuffre, who claims she was trafficked into having sex with Britain's Prince Andrew and others when she was 17. Prince Andrew denied the allegations but later paid Giuffre a reported £12 million ($15 million) in an out-of-court settlement in February 2022.

Clinton and Prince Andrew are among the names that could be listed, although it is not believed the listing will provide any allegations of wrongdoing by the former president. Clinton and Epstein were friends, with Epstein visiting the White House several times during Clinton's presidency. A

spokesperson for Clinton recently reiterated to Newsweek a 2019 statement that Clinton "knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago," or those he was charged with that year prior to his death at New York City's Metropolitan Correctional Center.

The statement confirmed that Clinton had flown on Epstein's plane along with his staff, adding: "He's not spoken to Epstein in well over a decade, and has never been to Little St. James island," in reference to Caribbean island in which Epstein is alleged to have trafficked and sexually abused young women and girls.

In a December 31 post, Greene said "it's no surprise at all" that Clinton could be named in the files.

"We said it a long time ago but they labeled us conspiracy theorists," she said. "There will be lots of names you've never heard of and the [Intelligence Committee] collected info on them. Pedophiles belong in jail not on secret government lists."

Not everyone who will be listed in the Epstein court filings will be accused of wrongdoing, with others also potentially appearing for working with the financier, flying on his private jet, or were potentially witnesses in a criminal investigation.

In response to Greene's post, several X users noted that Trump could also be named in the Epstein files, having been previously found to have used Epstein's private jet to fly between Florida and New York in the 1990s. There is no indication that Trump will be accused of sexual misconduct involving Epstein, with the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination not reported to have ever visited Little St. James in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

"I find it really rich that Republicans are so quick to jump to, 'Bill Clinton is on the Jeffrey Epstein list' and even THEN, they still can't say the next obvious statement - that if Clinton is in it, so is Trump," Jeff Hudson wrote while replying to Greene's post.

Shelly Kirchoff added: "You're so obsessed with Bill Clinton being on the list that you're overlooking that Trump, the leader of YOUR party, will be on the same list, you raging hypocritical bigot. Do you know who won't be named in the Jeffrey Epstein files? PRESIDENT BIDEN!"

The @JJFan18 account wrote: "Bill Clinton isn't running for President but because Republicans have absolutely nothing else to run on and to distract from the fact Trump is also in Jeffery Epstein's files they'll scream 'Bill Clinton.'

"Meanwhile every Democrat will tell you if Bill is in those files and he broke the law he should be held accountable, while every Republican and MAGA supporter will do their best to absolve and excuse Trump from such accountability. That's the difference between Democrats and Republicans."

Newsweek has reached out to Greene's and Trump's offices for comment.

It was previously revealed that Trump had flown on Epstein's private jet, dubbed the "Lolita Express," several times between 1993 and 1997 to travel from Palm Beach and New York City airports, with one flight in 1994 stopping at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

The flight logs were revealed during Maxwell's 2021 trial in which she was found guilty of conspiring with Epstein to abuse and traffic girls and sentenced to 20 years in jail. Trump was not implicated in Epstein's or Maxwell's sex crimes.

Trump and Epstein were known to be associates and moved in the same social circles for years in the 1980s and 1990s. The pair reportedly fell out over a disagreement while they both tried to buy a Palm Beach property. Trump also allegedly banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago resort after he showed interest in the teenage daughter of a club member.

The relationship between Clinton and Epstein is well documented, with the Democrat repeatedly denying claims from Giuffre that he visited Little St. James.

"He had one meeting with Epstein in his Harlem office in 2002, and around the same time made one brief visit to Epstein's New York apartment with a staff member and his security detail," the statement from Clinton's office said.

Clinton also used Epstein's plane several times in the early 2000s to locations such as China, New York and Britain. There are no logs showing Trump or Clinton visited Epstein's Little St. James island.
