It's official: Matt LeBlanc will take the driver's seat on BBC's Top Gear, replacing Chris Evans.
The Friends actor has signed a two-season deal to stay on the factual car program after proving a hit with viewers when he made his debut earlier in 2016.
LeBlanc, who previously co-hosted with Evans, will now take over the lead hosting duties, including interviews with celebrity guests. Evans—who also served as producer on the rebooted Top Gear—quit his post in July.
LeBlanc will be flanked by a series of recurring hosts including motor-racing journalists Chris Harris and Rory Reid. German racing car driver Sabine Schmitz, former racing boss Eddie Jordan and The Stig will also make regular appearances, the BBC said Monday.
BBC Two channel editor Patrick Holland said: "I am thrilled that Matt LeBlanc is returning to Top Gear. He's a huge talent whose love of cars is infectious."
LeBlanc's second season of Top Gear will screen on BBC Two in 2017. The actor is also the star of a new CBS sitcom, Man with a Plan, set to premiere in October.
