Juventus manager Max Allegri has reportedly told close acquaintances he will replace Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager.

Calciomercato, the Italian football website, claims the 49-year-old wants to move to Emirates Stadium, and this has hastened Juventus's search for a replacement.

Allegri took over at Juventus from current Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, and has won successive Serie A titles with the club known as Italy's "Old Lady." He also reached a UEFA Champions League final with the club in 2015, which it lost to Barcelona.

Wenger, meanwhile, is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer. A veteran of two decades in north London, the Frenchman looks set to miss out on the Champions League quarter-finals, while Arsenal may also face a fight to finish in the Premier League's top four and qualify for next season's Champions League.
