Mega Millions Results, Numbers for 10/30/18: Did Anyone Win the $45 Million Jackpot Tuesday (Last) Night?

Tuesday night's drawing for the Mega-Millions $45 million jackpot ($25 million cash option) was set for 11 p.m. EDT while everyone who purchased a ticket waited to see if the numbers they chose were going to be announced. So who was the lucky winner to hit the record-breaking prize?

The winning numbers announced Tuesday night were 20-31-39-46-49. The Mega Ball chosen Tuesday evening was 23 and the Megaplier is 2X, according to the Mega Millions website. There was no winner for the jackpot, which means the next drawing on Friday will be worth an estimated $52 million with a $29 million cash option.

Despite no one winning the big jackpot, there were some winners from last night's drawing. One of the $1 million winners was in Michigan, MLive reported. The winner also played the Megaplier option, which increased their winnings to $2 million, according to the Mega Millions website. The $1 million winning ticket was sold at an Ahlora Mart in Mount Clemens, Michigan and the $2 million winning ticket was sold at Us Energy Distribution LLC in Flint, Michigan, according to MLive. There was also a $1 million winning ticket sold in Texas, the Mega Millions website noted.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Five of the numbers are selected from a set of balls with the numbers ranging from one through 70 printed on them. The sixth ball is picked from numbers ranging from one through 25, according to the Mega Millions website. If there is no winner and the jackpot is unclaimed, the money is added to the following jackpot for the next drawing, the Mega Millions website states.

If a winner does not claim their jackpot prize in the amount of time given, each state that took part in the lottery will receive its money back, according to Mega Millions. Every state uses that money differently and Mega Millions suggests to those who wonder about unclaimed jackpot money should contact their local lottery.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states in the U.S., including the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. The Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each to play.
