Mega Millions Numbers, Results for 1/4/19: Did Anyone Win the $40 Million Jackpot Friday (Last) Night?

Mega Millions latest jackpot on Friday night was worth $40 million with a cash option of $23.9 million. After someone from New York hit the $425 million jackpot on Tuesday night, was anyone lucky enough to hit the jackpot a second time this week?

The winning numbers announced on Friday night at 11 p.m. EST were 21-29-35-54-60, Mega Ball 15, and Megaplier 4X, according to the Mega Millions website. Although no one hit the jackpot on Saturday night, there was one Match 5 winner from California who won $1 million, according to the lottery website. There were also eight Match 4 and Megaplier winners from last night's drawing. To see all of the winners from last night, click here.

The next drawing for Mega Millions will take place on Tuesday at 11 p.m. EST and will be worth $45 million with a cash option of $27.3 million, according to the lottery website. To check lottery numbers from previous drawings, click here.

The lottery drawings for Mega Millions are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 11 p.m. EST and is played in 44 states across the U.S. To play the popular lottery game, Mega Millions players will choose five numbers from one through 70 and then a sixth number ranging from one through 25, according to the lottery website.

On Tuesday, a person from New York won the $425 million jackpot. The winning numbers announced Tuesday night were 34-44-57-62-70, Mega Ball 14 and Megaplier 4X, according to the Mega Millions website. The winning ticket was sold at Brookville Auto Service in Glen Head, New York, ABC News previously reported. This was the second time someone has hit the jackpot on New Year's Day. The first winning on New Year's Day happened in Texas in 2008, according to the lottery website.

There were also three people from New York who were Match 5 winners, along with other winners from Ohio, South Carolina, and Texas. A person from Pennsylvania was also a Match 5 and Megaplier winner, the website stated.

A Mega Millions ticket for $1.5 billion was sold in South Carolina during the October 24 drawing, but no one has claimed the prize yet. The winning ticket was sold at a convenience store in Simpsonville, South Carolina, CBS News previously reported. The winner of the billion dollar prize has until April to come forward to claim the prize.
