Mega Millions Results, Numbers for 11/6/18: Did Anyone Win the $70 Million Jackpot Tuesday (Last) Night?

Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing for the $70 million jackpot ($39 million cash option) was set for 11 p.m. EST while those who bought a ticket waited to see if the numbers they selected were going to be announced. So who was the lucky winner to hit the jackpot?

The winning numbers announced Tuesday night were 28-34-27-56-69, according to the Mega Millions website. The Mega Ball chosen Tuesday evening was 12 and the Megaplier is 2x, the Mega Millions website stated. There was no winner for the prize, which means the next drawing on Friday will be worth a jackpot of $90 million with a cash option of $50 million, according to the Mega Millions website.

Although no one was able to win the jackpot prize, a ticket in Florence, Kentucky, matched all the white ball winning numbers and was worth a total of $1 million, LEX18 reported on Wednesday. This is the game's second winning prize, according to the Mega Millions website.

This is the seventh time a $1 million ticket was sold in Kentucky in the past month, according to LEX18.

"There is a lucky $1,000,000 Mega Millions winner in Florence, KY. The winning numbers were 28-34-7-56-69-12 (Megaball) and 2 was the Megaplier. The ticket was purchased from the Florence Hop Shop!" KY Lottery tweeted on Wednesday.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11 p.m. Five numbers are chosen from a set of balls with the numbers of one through 70 printed on them. The sixth ball is selected from numbers ranging from one through 25, according to the Mega Millions website. If there is no winner, the money will be added to the next jackpot for the following drawing, the website states. The tickets only cost $2 to play.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states across the U.S., including the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. The odds of winning with a $2 Mega Millions ticket are one in 303 million.

If there is no winner, each state that participated in the lottery will receive its money back, according to Mega Millions. Every state uses the money differently and Mega Millions suggests players who wonder about unclaimed jackpot money should contact their local lottery.

In October, a winning ticket purchased in South Carolina matched the numbers of 5-28-62-65-70 and a Mega Ball power number of 5 to win the $1.537 billion jackpot, according to a Mega Millions press release.
