Most people didn't have the luxury of traveling to Windsor to celebrate Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's gorgeous wedding in May. Sure, scrolling through photos of the ceremony on social media and watching their post-nuptial parade on TV was almost as good as being there but nothing really beats the regality of witnessing the holy matrimony between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in real life.
Now that Harry and Markle have been married more than three months, they're giving fans the closest glimpse of their wedding to common citizens.
Kensington Palace announced the couple's wedding outfits will be featured in the commemorative showcase, A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, on Wednesday.
The collection will include Markle's wedding gown, designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller of the Givenchy fashion house, as well as the 1932 Queen Mary diamond and platinum bandeau lent to Markle by Queen Elizabeth II. Markle's five-meter-long veil, adorned with flora from the 53 countries of the Commonwealth, will also be on display.
As for Harry's wedding uniform, viewers won't actually see the exact frockcoat uniform of the Household Calvary that the Prince wore when he greeted his brides at the altar. That particular ensemble was specifically commissioned for him by the tailors at Dege & Skinner on Savile Row, the Palace said. That means Harry gets to keep it and he could very well be spotted in the uniform again. Instead, an identical replica of the uniform is expected to appear in the exhibit.
The royal wedding attire will go on display on October 26 at Windsor Castle and will remain available for viewing until January 9, 2019. The garb will relocate to Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh on June 14, 2019, before the exhibit officially concludes on October 6, 2019.
