Meghan McCain isn't interested in a "soft and warm" 2020 presidential candidate. She wants a "bad b***h" on the ticket—at least, that's what the political commentator seemed to suggest on The View while offering praises of Democratic candidate Amy Klobuchar on Monday.
The ABC show hosts were discussing the wave of Democrats who have recently announced their bids for the presidency when McCain made the surprising comment about the Minnesota Senator in relation to Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has also announced her campaign.
"Elizabeth Warren, I don't need you to be soft and warm," McCain said. "Be a bad b***h. I don't need to drink beer with you. I don't need to see your kitchen."
McCain's co-host Joy Behar noted Klobuchar's notably tough reputation, which McCain suggested was exactly the type of energy that was needed on the campaign trail. "Being a bad b***h is a good thing. For me it's like you're tough and you're strong and you get things done. I think I probably fit into that category," McCain said.
Standing among thousands of Minnesota residents in the snowy, freezing cold, Klobuchar announced plans to run against Republican President Donald Trump in early February.
"On an island in the middle of the mighty Mississippi, in our nation's heartland, at a time when we must heal the heart of our democracy and renew our commitment to the common good, I stand before you as the granddaughter of an iron ore miner, the daughter of a teacher and a newspaperman, the first woman elected to the United States Senate from the state of Minnesota, to announce my candidacy for president of the United States," Klobuchar said, covered in snow from the blizzard.
Since her presidential announcement, Klobuchar's demeanor has come under fire after a Buzzfeed report highlighted the Senator's demanding and aggressive behavior towards staffers, including one instance in which she allegedly threw a binder at aides.
While speaking with Fox News, Klobuchar admitted that she "can be a tough boss and push people."
"That's because I have high expectations of myself. I have high expectations of those that work with me and I have high expectations for our country," she said.
