Stormy Daniels's Lawyer Mocks Trump's 'Drain the Swamp' Mantra: He 'Makes Everglades Look Like Plastic Pool'

Stormy Daniels's lawyer Michael Avenatti has criticized President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani, commenting "it's an absolute joke" that Giuliani wants to "drain the swamp."

In an interview with Joy-Ann Reid on AM Joy Sunday on MSNBC, Avenatti mocked an earlier interview given by Giuliani in which the president's lawyer said Trump "wants to do everything he can to drain the swamp."

"This whole mantra by Giuliani of draining the swamp, it's an absolute joke," Avenatti said after host Reid played him a clip of an earlier interview given by Giuliani to CNN.

"These guys have created a swamp within this administration that makes the Everglades look like a backyard plastic pool," said Avenatti.

The lawyer for Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, also hit out at the idea that Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen was acting without Trump's knowledge when he pitched access to the president in 2016 as a highlight of his services, Mediaite reported.

Giuliani said in comments carried by CNN: "I talked to the president only one time about this, and that was the first day it came out, and he wasn't aware of that situation that now, I guess, the facts are getting a little contorted."

His explanation did not seem to sit well with Avenatti, who took the opportunity to dismiss Giuliani and Trump's claims.

"There's absolutely no evidence of that, and it strains credibility to even suggest it," he said.

Avenatti's Sunday comments came shortly after he took to social media on Saturday to discuss another of Trump's legal associates, slamming the company that allegedly gave Michael Cohen $500,000 in consulting fees and a $1 million contract.

"There's a reason why Columbus Nova's story keeps changing by the day and there's a reason why they are covering-up. The truth is not pretty... but it is necessary. Mr. Trump will not serve out his term," Avenatti tweeted.
