Stephen Miller, a senior policy adviser to President Donald Trump's White House, appeared on CBS's long-running news program Face the Nation on Sunday to publicly defend the administration's policies. However, some Twitter users were more interested in a new growth on his head where once there was only a bald patch.
Among the commenters was celebrity lawyer Michael Avenatti, who mocked Miller in a tweet which read: "I'm going to leave this right here and not comment, with one exception. @StephenMillerAL - just let it go already. Of all the cover-up options, spray-on is THE WORST. Even worse than utilizing Michael Cohen. #BaldIsBeautiful"
Avenatti was not alone. Jess Dweck, a writer for The Tonight Show, said: "Dude is so desperate to build a wall he started building one on his head."
Ken Olin, director and executive producer of NBC's comedy-drama This Is Us, tweeted: "Stephen Miller's unfortunate hair peninsula is a good reason for him not to face the nation."
Other users said that people should focus on Miller's polices rather than his appearance.
"People: the problem is not with Stephen Miller's hair, or lack thereof," wrote arts administrator and columnist Howard Sherman. "It's his reprehensible policies. Let's stay focused on what really matters, OK? #resist."
Meanwhile, screenwriter Randi Mayem Singer said, "To be fair, I don't just mock Stephen Miller's ghastly appearance. I make sure to mock his middling intellect, expansive hatred and abhorrent policy stances too!"

On Face the Nation, Miller said he would do "whatever is necessary," including shutting down the government, to ensure that President Trump's wall on the U.S.-Mexico border was built.
President Trump recently made a request for $5 billion in order to fund the wall, a move the Democrats strongly oppose.
"We are about five days away from a potential government shutdown. Republican leadership says there's no plan," Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan said. "What is the president's plan, and will he shut it down to get this $5 billion in border wall funding?"
"If it comes to it, absolutely," Miller responded. "This is a very fundamental issue. And at stake is the question of whether or not the United States remains a sovereign country."
Brennan also raised the issue of the 7-year-old migrant girl from Guatemala who died shortly after arriving in the U.S., making headlines on Friday.
"While she was under the protection of customs and border control, who bears responsibility for her death?" Brennan asked.
"Our hearts break for the tragic death of the 7-year-old girl," Miller responded. "The loss of that precious life is horrifying. It is a painful reminder of the ongoing humanitarian tragedy that is illegal immigration. The misery that it spreads."
He continued, "One of the great tragedies going on in our country today is the loopholes in our immigration laws, the deficiencies in our immigration laws and left-wing activist judicial rulings that incentivize the most vulnerable populations to come to our country."
