House Speaker Mike Johnson detailed new plans for Republicans in 2024 following former President Donald Trump's victories on Super Tuesday.
While appearing on Fox News' America's Newsroom, Johnson spoke about Trump's victory over former South Carolina Nikki Haley and how Republicans will support the former president ahead of the 2024 election.
"The strategy is to share the truth, to talk about our principles, to talk about our policies," Johnson said, adding that Americans are concerned about similar issues, including crime, the U.S.-Mexico border and crime.
"All the issues where Republicans have the right answers and you've seen what the Democrats have delivered in these areas."
Johnson said that the contrast between Democrats and Republicans' "competing visions" will get more pronounced as the election nears. He blamed Biden's policies for getting America into the "trench" it's in right now.
"The strength that we had during the Trump administration, after just the first two years, the greatest economy in the history of the world. We can achieve that again, but you have to make the right policies, and you have to elect the right people who will enact those policies," Johnson said.

The Context
Trump defeated Nikki Haley in nearly all states on Super Tuesday, allowing him to move closer to the 1,215 delegates needed to secure the nomination. Haley announced on Wednesday morning that she would be suspending her campaign.
During a speech on Tuesday evening, Trump said: "We have a great Republican Party with tremendous talent, and we want to have unity, and we're going to have unity...and I've been saying lately, success will bring unity to our country."

While appearing on Fox News, Johnson said that the Republican Party is already working with the former president.
"He knows how important it will be when he wins reelection to have a large House majority for the Republican Party," Johnson said. "It is not unusual, after a tough primary season, to have some unifying to do in the party, but he will do that."
Views
Following Haley's defeat on Super Tuesday, she announced the suspension of her campaign but stopped short of endorsing Trump.
However, other Republicans, such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, quickly issued a statement in support of Trump, saying: "It should come as no surprise that as nominee, he will have my support."
What's Next?
Trump still needs additional delegates to officially secure the GOP nomination, but with Haley's decision to drop out, he is the sole name running for the party.
Biden also saw victories on Super Tuesday, setting the stage for a rematch of the 2020 election in November.
