Mike Lindell Says Twitter Return 'Historical Day' for U.S

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has called his return to Twitter a "historical day" for the U.S. and appeared to reiterate unfounded claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from former President Donald Trump.

Lindell spoke to former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon on Friday.

He told Bannon that January 7 and 8, 2021 were "some of the two most important days in the history of our country" and claimed that 1.2 million Americans had been de-platformed or "suppressed" across a variety of social media sites including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

"We got through that and this is a historical day for me and for the country because we're getting our voice back," Lindell said.

Lindell also repeated comments he made in a tweet he sent on Friday about turning electronic voting machines into prison bars and appeared to suggest former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg could go to prison.

"I believe a lot of people are gonna go to prison," Lindell said. "I mean, this is a crime against our country. It's a crime against all humanity. They're trying to take our country."

Lindell used his return to Twitter on Friday to once again take aim at electronic voting machines. The MyPillow CEO has directed considerable criticism at voting machines since the 2020 presidential election and repeated unfounded claims that the election was stolen from Trump.

"I'm back!! Thank you @elonmusk and by the way MELT DOWN THE ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES AND TURN THEM INTO PRISON BARS!" Lindell wrote on Twitter Friday afternoon.

Lindell was reinstated to the social media platform along with a number of other figures who had previously been suspended. Trump's account has also been reinstated but he has not yet used it, instead continuing to post on his own Truth Social platform.

Newsweek has asked Twitter about Lindell's return to the platform.

The former president regained access to his account on November 19 and subsequently gained hundreds of thousands of new followers. Trump was previously a frequent Twitter user, touting his own accomplishments and criticizing his opponents.

Both Lindell and Bannon are slated to appear at Turning Point USA's four-day America Fest conference which will begin in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday where Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., will also feature.

The event follows recent controversy surrounding former President Trump's NFT collection, which he launched and Thursday and sold out in 24 hours. Bannon said on Friday that whoever advised Trump to create the NFT trading cards should be fired.
