Missing 2-Year-Old Girl Te'Myah Plummer Identified As Toddler Found In Suitcase

The body of a missing Virginia toddler was discovered in a suitcase in New Jersey some eight months after the little girl disappeared.

Te'Myah Plummer, 2, and her father Travis L. Plummer, 37, were reported missing in August 2017—but Richmond Police said they did not believe they were in danger. Authorities issued a missing persons alert for the father and daughter last month, WTVR reported.

Both were initially believed to have relocated to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County area of North Carolina or Jersey City, New Jersey, WABC reported.

"We would like to hear from whomever may be caring for Te'Myah Plummer, probably a family member," Major Crimes Sergeant Frank Scarpa of Richmond Police said in March. "We need to confirm that she is safe."

The little girl's remains were discovered carefully wrapped in a blanket inside a suitcase along PATH train tracks in Jersey City on April 11. Authorities believe the toddler had been dead for several days before her body was found. According to WNBC, there were no signs of trauma on the girl, who was fully clothed in the suitcase.

Authorities identified the girl's remains this week.

Richmond Police continue to look for Travis Plummer, who is not believed to be in New Jersey, WNBC reported. He is described as being a 5-feet 8-inches tall, 250 pound black male with medium complexion. Anyone with information is asked to send tips to police.
