Missing 'Fauci Files' Raises Questions for Elon Musk

Elon Musk, the CEO of X, formerly Twitter, faced questions on social media this week regarding previous reports of a release of the "Fauci Files."

"What happened @elonmusk?" Osher Feldman wrote, including a screenshot of a post in which Musk spoke about the release of "Fauci files," in January 2023.

On Monday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former chief medical adviser to the White House, appeared before the Republican-led House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic to answer questions regarding the origins of COVID-19 and how health agencies in the U.S. responded to the pandemic.

Many Republicans in Congress, like Kentucky Senator Rand Paul and Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, have continued to question Fauci on his knowledge of the origins of COVID-19 following reports that the virus originated from a lab leak in Wuhan, China.

Amid reports of a lab-leak theory, Musk teased that he would release the "Fauci Files" on social media.

"Hope you're having a great day 1 2023! One thing's for sure, it won't be boring," Musk wrote on X in January 2023.

Another X user responded asking when he plans to release the files, to which Musk responded by saying "later this week."

In response to Musk's comments, Fauci told the CBS news podcast The Takeout that he was unaware of what the X CEO could be talking about.

"I have no idea....I mean, there's a lot of misinformation, conspiracy theories and disinformation going on," Fauci said. "I have nothing to say to him. I don't understand what he's doing. It's just unfortunate."

Nevertheless, many social media users questioned Musk this week following Fauci's testimony and the release of several court documents relating to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

"Hey @elonmusk I was just curious about the #faucifiles release? Can we please get an update? Thank you," X user GameTechPolitics wrote.

The Idaho GOP X account wrote: "Everybody's consumed talking about the Epstein files and aliens, so the Fauci news slips under the radar. Intentional?

X sure @pepedownunder wrote: "Dear @elonmusk It's been 1 year and 3 days since you promised us the #FauciFiles...Screw Epstein's Client List...I want to see Fauci exposed for the demon he is...!"

Similarly, X user @TruthWarrior_77 said: "Hey @elonmusk - now would be an excellent time to release the #FauciFiles. Why haven't they been released?"

X user @Mrs__Calabash said: "@elonmusk promised to bring us the #FauciFiles last February."
