Mom Makes Apology TikTok Videos After Killing 3-Year-Old Daughter

A mother who killed her three-year old daughter took to TikTok just over three weeks later to pay tribute to the child with a series of videos.

Kaylee-Jayde Priest was found dead in an apartment in Solihull, United Kingdom, on August 9, 2020, and soon after her mother, Nicola Priest, 23, began uploading videos purporting to be in her memory.

One of the clips, which was viewed by the Birmingham Mail, includes Priest mouthing along to a song which includes lyrics about having "messed up bad."

This video, which had a teeth-brightening filter on it, was shared just 39 days after Kaylee was found dead.

On Friday August 6, both Priest, 23, and Redfern, 22, were found guilty of manslaughter and Priest was sentenced to 15 years in prison and Redfern was sentenced to 14.

Birmingham Crown Court heard how the toddler had "sustained a ferocious assault" which resulted in damage to her chest including internal rupturing of the intestines and a punctured lung.

This was apparently due to the fact that she had interrupted Priest and her boyfriend Callum Redfern while they were having sexual intercourse.

Kaylee had been dead for hours before Priest contacted emergency services, and it was found that the child had received injuries consistent with stamps or kicks in the weeks leading up to her death.

Priest's social media videos have recently come to light, the first of which was a slideshow of pictures of Kaylee alongside the caption: "RIP my baby."

The second clip pertaining to her daughter was shared on September 17 and shows Nicola Priest singing the lyrics: "I'm sorry mum and dad, I know I messed up bad, should have done better."

Another showed more pictures of Kaylee along with photographs of the flowers left for the toddler near their home hours after her death.

The 23-year-old had captioned it: "I love you so much darling mommy will never forget you ever!!! Rip angel".

Priest also performed dances on the app, and uploaded makeup tutorials.

The judge, as he was sentencing the duo, said: "You Priest did nothing to seek medical help. A prompt call could have saved Kaylee's life.

"You both lied repeatedly during interviews. You Redfern chose not to give evidence. You Priest lied while giving evidence.

"From the severity of the injuries caused by the assault, it is clear there was an intention to cause serious harm. The injuries were caused by a ferocious assault."

The judge also told Priest: "Lockdown made life more challenging. I accept that you were easily led particularly by Redfern who you were infatuated with.

"You and Redfern were equally responsible. You had ample opportunity to raise any concerns. Kaylee was very vulnerable and you were in a position of trust. You did nothing to summon help.

"I take into account the loss of your daughter has caused you genuine grief. You have shown some degree of remorse."
