Mommy Blogger Gets Drawback For Exposing Child For Potential Gain

One Georgia mom, worried about how her son's feelings might be affected several years from now, wrote on social media this week that she felt her son's birthday and popularity (or lack therof) from a lack of likes on Instagram would affect his future.

Katie Bower, a do-it-your selfer (DIY) and mommy blogger, blasted social media this week to show her concern of a, well, lack of concern, the unpopluarity of her son's photos. Though she got some responses she probably wanted, there were some she probably didn't expect.

Full-time mommy bloggers scare me. These women use their kids' faces to promote content and products that they will make money off of. It is the 2018 version of turning your kids into child stars and profiting off of them, and who knows what kind of long-term impact it'll have?!

If you are an IG mommy blogger who's afraid that how many likes on your child's pictures is going to one day hurt his self esteem, your parenting is horrid and feel bad for your kid.

Here's what the original message said.

Bower has since removed the original post, saying she never intended the negative drawback on the situation.
