Three teenage girls were allegedly attacked over a parking space at a New Jersey mall on Friday night.

Taylor McFadden, 18, told NJ Advance Media that she and her two friends, Alexandra DeRusso and Tatum Bohanon, were allegedly attacked by two women over a parking spot. McFadden told WPVI that DeRusso and Bohanon were smoking cigarettes outside of her car when she noticed another car pull up behind her to take her spot.

"I noticed the car had pulled up behind me," McFadden told NJ.com. "I had told my friend to wait because I was not pulling out yet because I wanted to sit and wait. Another car, about three cars out from me, was pulling out, and some people backed into that spot and got out of the car and came walking past my car."

McFadden said the group of people, two men and two women, walked past the car mumbling something but did not respond to them. One of McFadden's friends leaned over to say something to her when one of the women turned around and started yelling at them, NJ.com reported.

"She said, 'I hope you are not talking to us,'" McFadden said. "They turned around and came walking toward us. My friend came around and said 'Listen, ma'am, you guys are older than us.'"

The 18-year-old told the local news publication that one of the women smacked one of her friends while the other woman threw her in front of McFadden's car and punched her. McFadden told the women to stop hitting her friends and that she was calling the police.

"While I am on the phone with the police, I tried to get my one friend away from them," McFadden told the publication. "The shorter woman turned around and grabbed my face and pushed my head back and my neck bent, and someone punched me on the right side of my face."

McFadden told WPVI that she was also kicked in her face when she was trying to break up the attack. The 18-year-old, who is half-white and African American, told NJ.com that while she was on the phone with police, the women began yelling racial epithets at her and the other teens.

"I was on the phone with the police at the time and I just started reading the license plate over and over to the dispatcher because I knew they were going to try to leave," McFadden said. "They got in their car, and they were screaming 'you dumb white [expletive]. You are too comfortable.' They just kept reiterating that we were white and too comfortable, and we were stupid white girls and all this stuff."

Mall security broke up the fight three minutes later, NJ.com reported. The teens were taken to a nearby hospital where they were diagnosed with concussions, WPVI reported.

Newsweek has reached out to the Deptford Township Police Department for further information on the incident but did not hear back in time for publication. In a police report obtained by NJ.com, authorities are looking for a white Pontiac and are reviewing security footage.

In July, a man in Florida was fatally shot over a handicap parking spot. Markeis McGlockton's girlfriend, Britany Jacobs, got into an argument with Michael Drejka over a handicap parking spot. When McGlockton confronted Drejka, Drejka fired a shot at McGlockton.
