As someone based in the Boston, Massachusetts, area, this Newsweek reporter found Eater.com's list of places open for the big party night in the city helpful. They appear to have similar lists for places like New Orleans and other cities' restaurants and bars that plan on catering to people looking to celebrate New Year's Eve.
Open Table also appears to have curated a page that lists restaurants available December 31, with closing times and where you can book a reservation.
How to Check If Popular Restaurants Are Open
Some popular restaurants like Chipotle may have curtailed hours for New Year's Eve. A spokesperson for the chain told Newsweek that Chipotle will be open, but only until 8 p.m., returning to regular hours, 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., on New Year's Day.
McDonald's and Taco Bell provide locators on their websites with hours of operation for each restaurant. Perkins has a similar national mapping of its outlets.
Analogous platforms also exist for popular restaurants such as Dunkin', Outback, Subway, Starbucks, Red Lobster and Buffalo Wild Wings.
